Three districts in C/R benefiting sanitation programme

Ajumako (C/R), Jan. 26, GNA – The Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District has been selected alongside two other districts in the Central Region for the promotion of Community-Led Total Sanitation in the district under the sponsorship of DANIDA.

The two districts are Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa and Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese. The District Chief Executive, Mr Peter Light Koomson, said this at the sitting of the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District at Ajumako. He said under the programme building of six-seat Institutional KVIP toilets have been awarded to three contractors in the three lots and that the projects are on-going in five schools in the district. Mr Koomson said training workshops had been carried out to build the capacities of officers in charge of the District Works Department to ensure to success of the programme.

He said the grader machine acquired by the Assembly is helping to rehabilitate roads in the district and mentioned some of them as the Ampia/Ajumako-Mando and the Ebum Junction-Bondze-Trebu in the Breman Traditional Area to link Ajumako-Bisease.
