Three counterfeit dealers busted

Tamale, Dec. 24, GNA – Security operatives in the Northern Region h= ad busted three persons including a lady for dealing in counterfeit Ghanaian currencies amounting to GH¢1,086. Solomon Agoma, 27, Peter Anaba, 24, and Namawu Abdul-Aziz, 27, were arrested upon a tip-off.

Chief Inspector Ebenezer Tetteh, Northern Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service, told the GNA in Tamale on Friday that the three had since been put before court with Solomon Agoma and Peter Anab= a pleading guilty to the offence of possessing fake currency notes. He said they were in prison custody awaiting sentencing on January 11.

Chief Inspector Tetteh said the security operatives during the arrest found GH¢510 with Solomon Agoma, Peter Anaba was in possession of GH¢536 while Namawu had GH¢40. He said a fourth suspect who is still at large is believed to be the supplier of the fake currency and the police were doing their best to get him arrested.
