Three commit suicide in Kwahu area

Three persons including two women committed suicide in the Kwahu West Municipality and Kwahu South District within the past two weeks.

The women were identified as Salia Salifu, a seamstress apprentice, who hanged herself at Nkawkaw in the Kwahu West Municipal on September 24, and Klasu Backey, a trader, who took poisonous drugs at Bepong in the Kwahu South District on October 4.

The man, identified as Kwasi Adu, a driver, hanged himself at Wawase near Nkawkaw on October 7.

The Nkawkaw Municipal Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Seth Yirenkyi, disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Nkawkaw.

He said the three had since been buried after post mortem at the Holy Family hospital at Nkawkaw.

According to DSP Yirenkyi, the police are investigating the cause of the incidents.
