Three Bono Police Officers Interdicted for Extortion

Three police officers stationed at Sampa in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region have been interdicted by the regional police administration over allegations of extortion.

According to a statement signed by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, the Bono Regional Police Public Relations Officer, the interdiction follows the emergence of a video circulating on social media that appears to show the officers taking money from motorists.

“The officers involved have been identified and interdicted to allow for a thorough and impartial investigation into the matter,” the statement said.

Chief Inspector Akeelah further explained in a phone interview that the case is being handled through internal disciplinary procedures by the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB).

The statement reaffirmed the police administration’s commitment to maintaining professionalism, transparency, and accountability among its personnel.
