Three aspirants file to contest Bantama parliamentary seat

Kumasi, April 7, GNA – Three candidates have filed their nominations papers to contest the Bantama constituency parliamentary seat in this year’s elections on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

They are Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) and Minister of State in-charge of Works, Housing and Water Resources, Nana Baffour Awuah, former Ashanti Regional Director of Ghana Telecom and Mr Francis Asenso-Boakye, a media practitioner. Mr Henry Kokofu, Chairman of the Bantama Constituency of the NPP told the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi at the weekend that the nominations papers had been submitted to the NPP headquarters and that a vetting committee would later be formed to go through the papers. Mr Kokofu appealed to the youth to be wary of those who would use them to destabilize the peace of the area.
