Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has cemented his status as one of Ghana’s finest football talents, winning the Men’s Footballer of the Year award at the 2025 Ghana Football Awards. This marks the third time Partey has claimed the prestigious title, following wins in previous editions of the award.
The 32-year-old received the honour from Ghana’s Sports Minister, Kofi Adams, at a glittering ceremony celebrating the seventh edition of the awards. Partey edged out tough competition, including Black Stars teammate Antoine Semenyo, whose standout performances for AFC Bournemouth were pivotal in the club’s record-breaking season.
Semenyo, 25, had an impressive campaign, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists in 42 appearances as Bournemouth secured their highest-ever finish in the Premier League, ending ninth.
However, it was Partey’s consistent influence for Arsenal that secured him the top accolade. Over 52 matches for the Gunners, Partey scored four goals and contributed three assists, playing a crucial role in helping Arsenal reach the UEFA Champions League semifinals for the first time since 2009 and finishing second in the Premier League for the third consecutive year.
Partey’s triumph underscores his enduring importance to both club and country, and his latest recognition solidifies his legacy in Ghanaian football.
