Thieves ransack provision store at Asankrangwa

Asankrangwa, March 22, GNA -Thieves broke into a provisions store at Asankrangwa last Friday night during a heavy downpour and made away with sales for the previous day.

They took advantage of a power outage in the town and dug a tunnel under the building through which they entered the store, said Mr Francis Ofori, the store assistant.

He told the Ghana News Agency that he arrived at the store the following morning to find that drawers in the stores have been forced open and all the sales for the previous day stolen. All other valuable items including provisions were however left untouched.

Madam Abena Assuah, owner of the provision store, said this was the second time that thieves had broken into her store. She said she lost 32 million cedis about a year ago when thieves broke into the store in the night.
