Thieves break into store, and …..

..leave with goods worth millions of cedis

The Nima police are investigating the circumstances leading to the destruction of a store and property, worth millions of cedis at Tip Toe near the Kwame Nkrumah Circle by a group of thugs at the weekend.

The owner of the store, Mrs Felicia Addison said items stolen included assorted drinks and electrical appliances.

Superintendent Adu-Poku, the Divisional Commander of Nima Police told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that leader of the thugs, has been arrested and was helping the police in their investigations.

Mr Adu-Poku said the group numbering about 10 broke the doors of the store collected all items and razed the store to the ground.

Mr Addison, husband of the victim told the GNA that he suspected some foul play in connection with a piece of land on which the store is located.

He explained that the land was leased to his wife for 20 years, but recently, relatives of the landlady wanted to reclaim it.

The lease, he said would have ended in 2008.
