The violence-free general elections is a good signal

Sunyani, Dec 19, GNA – Nana Kwadwo Seinti, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, has said the conduct of peaceful, free and fair elections in Ghana was proof to the international community of the steady growth of the nation’s democracy.

“The conduct of the elections has sent a signal to the international community that democracy is actually taking root in Ghana”, he said.

Nana Seinti said this in a speech read on his behalf at the opening of the Fourth Brong-Ahafo Presbytery Prayer Convention of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana held at the Sunyani. He thanked the Church for praying to ensure elections devoid of violence.

Nana Seinti also thanked the Church for joining the government to campaign moral decadence, HIV/AIDS, armed robbery, spousal murders, and fraud and chieftaincy disputes.

He expressed the hope that the successes chalked by the government in the Positive Change Chapter One would open the gateway for the nation to chalk greater successes in the years ahead.

Mr. Ebenezer Aboa-Offei, Catechist of Grace Presbyterian Church at Akropong-Akuapem in the Eastern Region who was the main speaker advised members of the prayer group not to be frustrated in time of problems but to continue to rely on prayer and thanksgiving.
