The Truth Will Come Out- Prof. Agyemang

The Head of the Philosophy Department of the University of Ghana, Professor Kwasi Agyemang, who has been implicated in the examination scandal at the university, says the matter is still being investigated and the truth will finally come out.

?The truth is yet to come out when the committee finishes its investigations,? he said.

In an interview with in Accra on Monday, he said, ?a lot of things had been said about me that dent my reputation but I will wait for the University to finish its investigations before I will know what to do.?

He said it is regrettable that some non-academicians have spoken on the issue against me on some radio stations.

It was alleged in the Stephen Mfodwo Committee?s report that Prof Agyemang got the poor grades of a 23-year old son of the Vice Chancellor, Kwadwo Tabiri Asenso-Okyere obtained in his ?Philosophy 204? examinations, changed from a grade ?F? to ?B?, after several attempts and also rewarded him with a grade ?A?, in ?PHIL 306?, an examination he did not sit for.

It was alleged that Prof Kwesi Agyemang, had influenced the grade changes.

The report also implicated the Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof Edward Ofori-Sarpong as having asked for support for his daughter.

Prof Ofori-Sarpong is said to have approached Prof Clara Fayorsey, head of the Department of Sociology, to review the mark awarded to his daughter, a sociology student.

The report has also indicted a son of the Vice Chancellor, Kwadwo Tabiri Asenso-Okyere, as having facilitated the widespread leakages.

It also cited Tabiri as being responsible for the leakage of four papers, which he sold for between ?300,000 and ?1million to some students, mostly Nigerians.
