Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has urged the Black Stars to give their all as they prepare for a decisive World Cup qualifier, insisting that the team’s fate lies firmly in their own hands.
Speaking to 3Sports ahead of the crucial encounter, Gyan called on the players to embrace the pressure and finish what they have started in the qualification campaign.
“We are very close. The players have their destiny in their hands. They have done all the work and must add the finishing touch,” Gyan said. “They should go out, play their hearts out and get the win.”
The 38-year-old, who captained Ghana at three FIFA World Cups, described the upcoming match as one that carries “good pressure”, the kind that sharpens focus and brings out the best in players.
“Some games come with good pressure and keep you on your toes. This is one of those games,” he added. “I feel there is a bit of pressure, but that is normal. Some of the players did it in 2022 and I am sure they can handle it.”
Gyan’s rallying message comes at a time when national optimism is rising, with Otto Addo’s side looking to secure qualification for the 2026 World Cup in North America.
His words serve as both encouragement and reminder that the Black Stars, with their experience and quality, have the chance to write another proud chapter in Ghana’s football story.
