The Intelligent Lady Magazine launched

The Intelligent Lady Magazine, a lifestyle magazine for the contemporary professional Christian lady has been launched in Accra.

The 50-page magazine founded by Madam Princess Sekyere, aims to inspire the Christian lady spiritually, emotionally and physically for a positive change. The latest work of Madam Sekyere which is also a network for women to empower themselves would further serve ladies with intellectual and inspirational stories on all aspects of their lives.

Published in Ghana by Princess Sekyere Mission, in association with Kingdom Concepts Consults, the all women magazine is structured in three parts, that is fulfil it, focusing on purpose, leadership and feats, whiles face it; talks about intellectual and social issues with the latter being work it; addressing the beauty and style as well as health needs of the Christian woman.

Speaking at the maiden launch in Accra on Saturday, Lady Rosa Whitaker Duncan-Williams, wife of Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, said the magazine and network would be a platform that would encourage women to aspire and make a difference.

“Princess recognises that there is a problem, and there is a narrative to change the problem of the girl child, ladies and Christian women, and I must say this could not come at any better time than now,” she said.

Mrs Duncan-Williams stressed that the magazine would also deal with the negative influences in society and correct false narratives meted against the Christian women over the years. She lauded Madam Sekyere for her hard work that had birthed a priceless tool in changing the ways women are treated in the homes, offices, schools and other places in society.

“I cannot be proud of Princess as I am tonight as she births the Intelligent Lady Magazine and network, and being a role mode of other young women who know they can do it,” she said. She, therefore, advised women to believe in themselves and always believe they can do something new.

Mrs Duncan-Williams prayed for the magazine to confront and address a culture of death over lives and usher in a new chapter. She urged the citizenry to support the magazine and network as it sought to redefine women.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Madam Sekyere said the magazine which would be published three times every year, was not just a magazine but a network.

“A network which seeks to link professional Christian women in business and leadership together to fellowship, share and support each other fulfil their God-given potentials.

“It is a place where older experienced professional women will mentor younger or mid-level professionals in business or leadership,” she said.

On the mission, the Founder told the GNA that providing a platform for professional Christian women to connect, share, support, give younger ladies a sense of vision by shaping their focus to uphold values, providing guidance and counselling as well as sponsoring young intelligent ladies in need to the tertiary level were among some of the network’s mission.

According to Madam Sekyere, she had the idea since 2010 and was motivated by some of the challenges women face in their various work places to cause a change hence the publication.

She advised women to join the network, support themselves and be women of faith. The first copy of the magazine which is the September to December 2017 edition with the title: “Fear God, Love People” and has Mrs Duncan-Williams on the cover page was bought at GHC 5,000.00.
