The Ghanaian Voice

The Voice says the NDC government under the leadership of President Rawlings, has stubbornly been flouting certain provisions of the constitution to the disgust of many Ghanaians. In a front page lead story headlined: “Above 60 but still at post…Agbotsui, Kalitsi, Parker must go”, the Voice says the latest disregard for the constitution and laid-down government regulation is the retirement of Ghanaians at the age of 60 years. The paper says at this critical period in the country’s history when there is the lowest recording of job opportunities and openings, the NDC government has found it expedient to retain the services of many Ghanaians who are over 60 years old, the stipulated retiring age. It says some of the top executives who should be on retirement and resting at home by now are, Colonel Agbotsui (rtd), chief executive of the Ghana Supply Commission, Mr E.A.K. Kalitsi, chief executive of the Volta River Authority (VRA) and Mr William Parker, chief executive of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR). GRI

“Guineaworm menace hits Krachi – MP”, is the headline of an inside page story of the Voice which says the Member of Parliament for Krachi, Mr S.K. Apraku, has called for national emergency and attention to the emergence of guineaworm disease in his constituency. The paper says Mr Apraku told the Parliamentary Press Corps that over 1,000 people have been affected by the disease. GRI
