The clergy must show good character – Archdeacon

The Archdeacon of the Akosombo Archdeaconry of the Anglican Church, Venerable Michael T. Asiedu, has reminded his colleagues in the gospel ministry to show good character – do the right things.

He noted that without this it would be difficult for them to lead the church and get the congregation behind them.

It was therefore important for them to be mindful of things they said, the way they conducted themselves and the values transmitted.

Venerable Asiedu was delivering the sermon at the ordination service held for two new priests, the Reverend Michael T. Weledji and the Rev Ebenezer Nadutey, at the Nuaso Saint John Anglican Church, near Kpong.

The ceremony was performed by the Koforidua Diocesan Bishop of the Church, the Very Rev Francis Benjamin Quashie.

The Archdeacon counseled the pair to remain prayerful and devoted to the work of God.

He also asked them to be loyal to the church and expressed optimism that they would disappoint.

Venerable Asiedu urged the congregation to give strong backing to the priests as they worked to bring salvation to more people and grow the church.
