The church should have no place for corrupt practices – Rev Frimpong-Manso

Kumasi, Feb 13, GNA – The Reverend Dr Paul Frimpong-Manso, General-Superintendent of Assemblies of God Church, Ghana, has invited men associations in the church to mount vigorous campaigns against corrupt practices affecting the growth of the Christian religion.

The church, he noted, was undergoing crisis as some professed men of God engaged in all manner of fraudulent deals, turf fights and human rights abuses.

He said the associations should serve as instruments of change by helping all to lead upright lives and refuse to be corrupted.

Rev Dr Frimpong-Manso said this when speaking at the commemoration of the first anniversary of the Association of Christian Men’s Fellowship at the Akwatia-line Assemblies of God Church in Kumasi.

The event was under the theme “Unity in diversity.”

Rev Dr Frimpong-Manso praised members of the association for their unity of purpose and urged them to provide the needed leadership to ensure peace, tolerance and progress of the society.

He said they should help to mobilize resources to tackle the socio-economic challenges facing people, particularly in deprived communities adding that they could for example sink boreholes and construct health and recreational facilities for people in such areas.

Mr Bright Osei Agyemang, President of the Association, said the idea of coming together was borne out of the need for unity among all men-based organizations in the various churches.

Men, he said, had the power to transform the society and that they would work with other stakeholders to bring development to the society.
