The body of Victor Owusu flies out Today

The remains of Mr Victor Owusu, a key member of the Danquah-Busia political tradition, will be flown out of London Heathrow on Tuesday 13 February. Mr Owusu, a former Attorney-General and Foreign Minister, died in London in December last year at the age of 77.

President Kufuor has confirmed a state burial for Mr Owusu. He will be buried on March 7 at Agona in Ashanti after being laid in state at the State House, Accra.

In London a brief memorial service was held on Saturday 10 February at Gilman’s, the funeral undertakers, in Garratt Lane, Tooting. In attendance were members of Mr Owusu’s family, friends as well as the Executive Committee of NPP UK and His Excellency J E K Aggrey Orleans, the High Commissioner.
