Accra, July 21, GNA – The Teachers and Educational Workers’ Union of the Trades Union Congress on Thursday asked the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) to ensure that the 15 per cent retention premium for the 11 classes of non-teaching staff in addition to arrears agreed last May be paid at the end of July this month.

A statement issued by TEWU in Accra said negotiation between the FWSC and the Union on payment of the retention premium to the remaining 11 classes of non-teaching staff should be resumed within 14 days from July 19.

“If the Fair wages and Salaries Commission fails to implement our Union’s demands…we will advise ourselves,” the statement signed by Mr Peter Lumor, National Chairman and Mr Dan Ayim Antwim general Secretary, said.
