TEWU appeals to teachers to put in their best

Ho, Aug 26, GNA – Mr Dan Ayim Antwi, General Secretary of Teachers and Educational Workers’ Union (TEWU) of Trades Union Congress (TUC), has called on members of TEWU to work diligently for their employers not to have any cause to complain about their performances.

He said that would also urge their employers to reciprocate the hard work with good pay since there would be increase in productivity. Mr Antwi made the call at a three-day evaluation workshop organized by the association for its women at Ho on Thursday. The programme that was for the southeastern sector comprising Greater Accra, Eastern and Volta Regions attracted 30 participants who had lessons on gender issues.

Mr Antwi said the association was committed to peaceful negotiations with its employer always and expressed the hope that as long as the employer ensures a win-win approach to all negotiations there would not be any “disturbances”.

Madam Ethel Nyadro, course prefect for the workshop, said topics including International Labour Organisation Convention on Women, HIV/AIDS, public speaking, and gender analysis among others were well treated and suggested in-service training for other workers in TEWU.
