Tetteh Enyo launches Ada Excellence Awards 2012

Mr. Alex Tetteh-Enyo, Member of Parliament for Ada Constituency on Monday launched the Ada Excellence Awards in an effort to reward organisations and indigenes who have contributed towards the socio-economic development of the town.

The award ceremony slated for November 2012, will be organized by EventComm Ghana Limited, an event management company, to award organisations and individuals with the Academic Excellence Award, Tourism and Hospitality Award.

Other awards are Lifetime Achievement, Legend Award, and Gratitude Award for non-indigenes who have helped in the socio-economic development of Ada.

Launching the programme on Monday, Mr. Tetteh-Enyo lauded the Dangbe for their beautiful culture which had endeared them to Ghanaians and tourists.

He urged the Ada Traditional Council to do well to preserve the cultural heritage of the Dangbe’s as it was the best way to distinguish them from other cultures in the country.

Mr. Tetteh-Enyo who is a former Minister of Education, noted that the Ada Traditional Area was making a lot of progress due to the hard work of the inhabitants and urged all to support the efforts of EventComm Ghana limited.

Mr. Ebenezer Bessey, Chief Executive Officer, EventComm Ghana limited, said the ceremony sought to create a platform through which the youth could network with key stakeholders in the development of Ada and also motivate Ada’s elsewhere to contribute towards the development of the community.

“It would also create equal platform to foster unity among Adas and other residents of different political affiliations to ensure peaceful 2012 elections,” he added.

He said the programme which would be organized annually would always serve as grounds to show gratitude to hardworking Adas and non-indigenes as a whole.

He appealed to organisations and individuals to financially support the awards ceremony for it to carry out a successful programme.

Nene Tsatsu Bediator IV, Head of the Kudzeagbe Clan, called on Adas to make the development of the community their priority.**
