Tepa MP and the District Assembly donate to Muslims

Tepa (Ash), Oct 27, GNA – The Ahafo-Ano North District Assembly and Mr Kwame Owusu Frimpong, Member of Parliament for the area, have donated food items valued at 8.2 million cedis to the Muslim community in the district in support of their fasting.

The items comprised 10 bags of rice, 10 bags of sugar, 10 cartons of milk and five cartons of Milo.

Mr Akwasi Adu-Poku, the District Chief Executive who made the presentation at Tepa on Tuesday, said the items were to assist the Muslims to successfully complete their fasting. He commended them for living in unity, peace and harmony especially at this time when the country will soon be going to the polls. Alhaji Nuhu, the Tepa Imam, who received the items, thanked the donors for their regular assistance to Muslims and said the items would be distributed to Muslims in the district.

The Imam appealed to the assembly to assist them to expand their mosque since it could no longer hold the growing number of Muslims in the area.
