Followers of the 70-year-old Imam reportedly clashed with the Police Saturday evening. It is unclear the basis of his arrest.

Four persons have reportedly been injured and admitted at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

According to a local reporter, Mumuni Yatinga , the Police upon seeing the irate supporters of the suspect at the station, opened fire in the air, causing massive fear and panic in the town.
