Ten million cedi scholarship for eight students

Mr. Kosi Kedem, Member of Parliament (MP) for Hohoe-South at the weekend presented a total of 10 million cedis to eight needy students to meet their educational needs under the Constituency’s Education Trust Fund. The Students including two girls were selected from six Senior Secondary Schools in the Constituency.

Mr Kosi Kedem said moved by the plight of the students he decided to release part of his share of the MPs’ common fund to support them in their education pursuit. He said the scholarship would be reviewed annually depending on their performance, adding that any beneficiary who performs below expectation would have his or her award withdrawn.

Mr Obed Kissiedu, Hohoe District Chief Executive advised parents to invest in the education of their children. He said government on its part would continue to provide the basic requirements to facilitate teaching and learning, for the industrious student to acquire the requisite qualification and skills needed for national development. Mr. Kissiedu cautioned them against the tendency to indulge in drugs under the false notion of enhancing their academic performance.
