Ten die in motor accident

Asamankese, (E/R) Dec 25, GNA – Ten persons died, nine on the spot, when a bus on which they were travelling from Accra to Akwatia and Kade was involved in an accident at Asikasu near Asamankese on Tuesday night The tenth victim died at the Asamankese Government Hospital hours later. The dead have not yet been identified and five injured people are receiving treatment.

Briefing the GNA on Wednesday, the Asamankese District Police Commander, Mr R.C.S. Johnson, said the accident occurred when a tipper truck grazed the side of the bus.

He said the driver of the bus lost control of the steering wheel and the bus swerved into a nearby house whose occupants escaped with minor injuries.
