Tempane Senior High School gets girls’ dormitory

Mr Daniel Syme, Deputy Upper East Regional Minister has cut the sod for the construction of a girls’ dormitory at the Tempane Senior High School.

The facility, costing GH¢900,000.00 is in fulfillment of a promise the President made to provide the facility to encourage female students in the area to attend school.

Mr Syme said the government was committed to providing quality education and to ensure as a reduction of the illiteracy rate.

He called on the contractor working on the project to move to site immediately to start work which is expected to be completed in 12 months.

The District Chief Executive for the area, Mr Albert Akuka Alalzuuga, said 12 communities were benefitting from a number of educational projects including three-unit classroom blocks, kindergarten blocks and teachers’ quarters.

Mr Alalzuuga mentioned some of the beneficiary communities as Kugurago Denugu,Benwoko,Nagani,Duubuliga,Yabrago,Ninsum,Nisbuliga,Bugri,Woriyanga, and Basyonda.

He hinted that government was undertaking rural electrification projects across the district and said about 30 communities were benefitting.
