Tema West CPP elects parliamentary candidate

Tema, Aug. 18, GNA – The Tema West Constituency primaries of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), on Tuesday elected Mr Godfried Allan Lomotey, an Industrial Consultant, by popular acclamation as its parliamentary candidate for Election 2004.

Mr Lomotey was the only candidate by the close of nominations. The candidate thanked the delegates’ for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work hard to ensure the electoral victory of the CPP, to engender the development of Tema, to the status envisioned by Ghana’s First President, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

Mr Lomotey outlined his development objectives, which included the erection of street lights, extension of pipe-borne water to deprived areas like Klagon and the construction of a dual carriage road at Baatsona to ease traffic congestion.

Dr Fred W. A. Akuffo, a Leading Member of CPP, called on Party loyalists to intensify the campaign for electoral victory in the December polls.

Dr Nii Gbobilor Fleischer, Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the CPP, called for financial commitment from Party activists to facilitate the victory of the Party.
