Tema Rotaract Club donates books to TMA Library

The Tema Rotaract Club at the weekend donated reading books worth 3,000 Ghana Cedis to the Tema Metropolitan Authority Library in Community Five with a call on students to make maximum use of the library.

Mr. Kwesi Hutchful, Metropolitan Director of Education said the donation, made up of 400 pre-school and kindergarten books and 127 books for tertiary institutions had come at an opportune time to support education in the Metropolis.

Mr. Hutchful thanked the donors for the wonderful gesture and hoped the books would help improve the reading abilities of pupils and students in Tema.

He appealed to other benevolent societies and public-spirited individuals to make similar donations to help improve education within the Metropolis.

Mr. Ben Gyampo, President of the Rotary Club said the Club would continue to assist youth clubs and help them make useful contributions for the development of the society.

Mr. Francis Mawuli Akoto, President of Rotaract Club of Tema, explained that the donation fell under the “Feed the Library Project,” designed by the Club to provide libraries and educational institutions in the Metropolis with quality reading materials.**
