Tema residents bemoan road closures

Tema, June 30, GNA – Some residents of the Tema Metropolis have lamented the closure of some major roads due to ongoing construction works in the area. Roads closed include the stretch linking Tema Community Three through Community Two to the defunct Meridian Hotel area and the one linking the Community Five traffic light to the Tema Development Corporation (TDC). A section of the residents the Ghana News Agency spoke to, expressed displeasure at the situation, since it has affected human movement and economic activities. They said taxi drivers, who ply Communities Four, Seven, Eight, and Nine, resorted to picking passengers only on charter due to the closure of the road linking Community One to the Community Four Police Station. They said that moving from Community Five traffic light to TDC area has become too cumbersome as drivers have to drive through Community Five. They cited that residents have to walk from the main harbour road or from the Community Two township to their destination. 30 June 10
