Tema records six deaths through motor accidents during X’mas

Tema, Dec. 30, GNA – The Tema Police Command recorded six deaths through four motor traffic accidents during the Christmas festivities. One of the accidents involving four deaths took place at Bereku near Kasseh in the Damngbe East District whiles the other three took place in Tema.

Four of the bodies have however, been deposited at the Sogakope District Hospital Mortuary, whiles the other two, including a lunatic have been deposited at the Tema General Hospital Mortuary pending autopsy and identification.

A press release issued and signed by the Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Inspector Yaw Nketia-Yeboah indicates that the vehicles and motorbikes involved in the accidents have been impounded at the Tema Police MTU and Kasseh Police station for investigations.

It however, advised the public to abide by the Road Traffic Regulations as we enter the New Year to minimise the rate of accidents. It also reminded the public of the presence of the Police/Military day and night patrol activities in the municipality and asked the public not to hesitate to contact them on emergency and as well as report any suspicious movements to them.
