Tema, Dec. 27, GNA – The Chief of Tema, Nii Adjei Kraku II has appealed to Ghanaians to exhibit a high sense of patriotism and maturity during Sunday’s Presidential Election Runoff to enable the nation to continue to enjoy the prevailing peaceful condition. Speaking to Ghana News Agency in a telephone interview, Nii Kraku said in the spirit of patriotism, all eligible voters must go to the poll to exercise their franchise but cautioned against causing confusion to undermine the credibility of the runoff. He advised voters to leave the polling station soon after casting their votes and not to engage in lengthy conversations with others as that would have the tendency of venturing into politics leading to arguments.
The runoff, he said, was a test case for Ghanaians because its success or failure would portray the nation’s image to the outside world, which was monitoring the election closely. For the nation to continue to be a beacon of hope to the world, Nii Kraku advised against doing anything that would disturb the peace. Meanwhile, several buses load of NPP supporters who converged at the forecourt of the Tema Community Centre were being conveyed to areas where they registered to cast their votes.
Some were going to Bolgatanga, Yapei, Bupie, Tamale, Kumasi, Brong Ahafo, Takoradi and Obuasi. Some of them were carrying heavy luggage, an indication that they were taking advantage of the free transport provided by the party to visit home.
