Tema East NDC concerned executive call for unity in the party

Tema, Oct. 27, GNA – A group calling itself “Concern Branch Executives” of the Tema East constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called for decency in the party hierarchy in order to protect its image.

Addressing a Press Conference on Wednesday at Tema, Mr Jameen Sika, acting Organising Secretary of the party in the constituency, called on the entire members to refrain from verbal warfare on the airwaves. Rather, they should gear their energies towards working hard to take over the administration of the country by winning the 2008 elections.

Mr Sika urged members to ignore some of the utterances of “our stomach politicians and desist from accusations of personalities on the airwaves.

At the constituency level, Mr Sika said they had revived 75 percent of 81 dormant branches and also reconciled the party’s 2004 parliamentary candidate Madam Emelia Adjei and Mr Albert Antwi Nuamah an Independent candidate. Mr Nuamah had broken away from the party because he said he was cheated during the primaries to elect a parliamentary candidate.
