Tema East MP calls for unity among NPP members.

Tema, Aug 13, GNA – Mr Ishmael Ashitey, Member of Parliament for Tema East, has urged polling station executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to bury their differences. He said the party’s well-being should be the priority of every member.

Mr Ashitey said this at a get-together organized by the constituency executives at the weekend. He said it was important for them to unite, because “when the party is strong, anybody contesting on its ticket would win”.

Mr Ashitey advised polling station executives in the constituency to forgive one another and unite as one in order to maintain the seat. Mr Obeng Fosu, Constituency Chairman, gave the assurance that the constituents were ready to support the aspirant who would be chosen as the party’s flag bearer in December.

Mr Fosu lauded the NPP government for introducing the Capitation Grant, the School Feeding Programme, the National Youth Employment Programme, and the National Health Insurance Scheme, and said, “our party brought those policies, so partake fully in them”. Mr Charles Boateng, Constituency Secretary said the get-together was one of its strategies of motivating its loyal members.

He said the NPP would win and maintain the seat as members are embarking on house-to-house campaign, instead of the use of propaganda.
