Television sets for schools in Nkoranza

Nkoranza (B/A), Feb 28, GNA – Nkoranza District Assembly has given 25 television sets to some Junior High schools and three Senior High schools in the district to promote distance learning. The Senior High schools are at Nkoranza, Busunya and Yefri. Mr. James Kwabena Appiah-Awuah, District Chief Executive, told the Ghana News Agency that the donation was in line with the government’s educational reforms to ensure that the rural and urban child enjoyed equal opportunities in education.

He said the beneficiary communities and schools had access to electricity and the television sets would enable the students to become abreast with the subjects and lessons of the educational reform programme. Mr. Appiah-Awuah called on school management committees and executives of Parent/Teacher Associations of the beneficiary schools to collaborate with the teachers to provide proper security for the sets and other school properties. 28 Feb 08
