Telecom University marks anniversary with Walk

Accra, Aug. 17, GNA – Ghana Telecom University College (GTUC) is to form a Keep Fit Club within the college for the benefit of both students and staff to would undergo daily exercises to maintain good health.

Dr Kofi Ashilevi, Chairman of the Sports Committee of the University, announced this at the end of the University’s Health Walk in Accra on Sunday.

The Walk, which formed part of activities marking the Second Anniversary celebrations of the University, started from the premises of the College at Tesano to the Industrial Area and back to the starting point.

Dr Ashilevi , who is also the Dean of Telecom Engineering of the College, called on students to take active interest in sports to enable them to remain healthy at all times.

Dr Kofi Osei-Darkwa, Principal of the College who led the participants, said the aim of the exercise was to showcase the University’s activities and also socialize, fraternize and make merry with one another.

He expressed the hope that the exercise would give them the necessary tool for their mental and human development. Dr Osei-Darkwa gave the assurance that the exercise would be a continuous affair in the University and urged all to embrace it.
