TEIN: NDC must unite to win Elections 2012

Accra, Sept. 6, GNA – The Tertiary Educational Institutions Network (TEIN) of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Monday noted that the party’s electoral fortunes in Elections 2012 hinge on building a solid united front and called for peace and unity in the party. “We, therefore, call on the President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills, to call to order any party and government officials whose activities we consider as suffocating the growth of the party, especially TEIN,” Dr David Sunu, Greater Accra Regional President of TEIN, said at a press conference in Accra.

He also called for “massive logistical and financial support for TEIN throughout the country for mobilization to ensure our electoral success in Elections 2012”.

The press conference was organized to highlight some ills within the party which TEIN considers recipes for disaster and to reaffirm its commitment to the principles and philosophy of the party. Dr Sunu said TEIN was desirous to ensure that the NDC remained in power to deliver the “Better Ghana” agenda.

He called on TEIN members to remain resolute and firm in their convictions “because it is only the NDC that can ensure the betterment of the conditions of all Ghanaians”.

Dr Sunu expressed reservation about activities of some leading NDC members which, he said, were inimical to the development of the party. He, therefore, called on the President to “periodically use the whip” to bring recalcitrant officials to order. 6 Sept. 10
