The Agona Swedru Circuit Court has sentenced a 18 year old student of Effutu Municipal Junior High School (JHS) to seven years imprison with hard labour for defiling a 13 year old girl.

Kweku Nkrumah pleaded not guilty to the charge but during the trail he pleaded guilty and the Court presided over by Justice Abigail Enimel Asare sentenced him accordingly.

Prosecution Police Chief Inspector Oporku Mensah said the complainant of the case is the father of the victim, Mr Isaac Afedzie.

The prosecution said on 11th July, 2013 at about 1300 hrs the victim went to the accused younger brother to study.

The prosecution said the accused person deliberately sent the younger brother out and while the brother was away, he lured the victim into his room and forcibly had sex with her then threatened to kill her if she revealed the act to any person.

Chief Inspector Oporku said because of the threat the victim did not inform the ordeal to any one until one day her step mother saw her bleeding and she narrated the whole story and mentioned the accused person name.

The matter was reported to the police and the accused was arrested and in his caution statement denied having any affair with the victim.

After investigations he was charge with the offence and arraigned before the Court.
