Teenager shot dead during Eid-Ul-Fitr celebrations in Kumasi

A 15-year old boy, only identified as Osman who was shot in the forehead after he refused to surrender his mobile phone to unknown assailants, has been confirmed dead at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.

Osman was reportedly shot on Tuesday night at an event to mark the Eid-Ul-Fitr celebrations in Kumasi.

The assailants believed to be armed robbers had been seizing phones belonging to celebrants at the event but the teenager refused to corporate leading to him being shot by one of them.

After the incident, he was rushed to the Manhyia hospital but in view of the severity of his injury, they intend referred him to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where he died on admission.
