The Chairman of the National Media Commission, Kabral Blay Amihere has stated that the proliferation of technology will not bring to an end the values of the media.
“Even though there is the introduction of digital TV, which is a good thing, there will still be massive monitoring, evaluation and assessment of the performance of the media”, Kabral Blay Amihere said at the opening ceremony of the two-day ARENA 2015 summit in Accra.
The ARENA 2015 summit opened on March 3, 2015 at the Accra International Conference Centre is dedicated to finalizing the analogue to digital switchover of terrestrial TV in Africa.
Mr. Amihere who was one of the speakers at the summit was of high hopes that Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) will offer better images and sound qualities aside creating job opportunities.
The two-day technology festival hosted 300 professionals from across the globe and provided participants the opportunity to trade, educate, debate and connect as well as unravel new strategies, innovations and challenges with the very companies and leaders shaping the market.
Also present at the opening of the summit were the Deputy Minister for Communication, Ato Sarpong; Deputy Director General of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Francisca Ashiety-Odunton; the Director of Sales of EMEA, International Datacast, Berend Blokzijl; CEO of Global Media Alliance and President of GIBA, Akwasi Agyeman among others.
The summit ends today, March 4, 2015.
