The Techiman branch of the National Pensioners Association (NPA) has started the construction of an office building to facilitate its administrative work.

Mr. Moses Nyarko, the Chairman said the project, started last year, was at the foundation level.

It is being funded through the payment of special monthly contributions by the members

He made this known during a visit to the area by the national officers of the association including its President, Mr. Seth Sesi, the General Secretary, Mr. Edward Ameyibor, the Vice President, Mr. S.B. Tiase, the Treasurer, Mr. Stephen Kuranchie and Women’s Organizer, Madam Janet Esseku.

They had earlier launched the Pensioners’ Medical Scheme (PMS) at the Wenchi Methodist Hospital.

Mr. Nyarko said the branch had as of the end of April, registered 700 members.

He appealed to individuals and organizations for support by way of the supply of building materials to successfully complete the project.
