Techiman Municipal CHRAJ records 418 cases by the end of September

Techiman (B/A), Oct. 11 GNA – The Techiman Municipal office of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) registered 418 cases between January to September this year. Out of the cases 155 were registered between July and September. Mr. Kwasi Asante-Boateng, Municipal Director of CHRAJ in a report, said tenancy issues was the highest within the period July to September with 42 complaints.

He said unfair treatment followed with 41, non-maintenance was 27, marriage 14, estate 11, and refusal to accept pregnancy 10. Four complaints on paternity was registered, three on labour issues, two on intestate succession and one case on child custody. Mr. Asante-Boateng said the Commission settled 63 of the cases, 90 of them were still pending while two were withdrawn by the complainants for mutual understanding.

He appealed to landlords and landladies to study the tenancy laws to help minimize cases on tenancy.
