Techiman improves its internally generated fund

Techiman (B/A), June 22, GNA – Techiman Municipal Assembly has realized GHC 201,368.04 out of a projected internally generated fund of GHC 1,285,410 for the first quarter representing 62.66 percent.

Mr. Alex Kofi Kyeremeh, Municipal Chief Executive for Techiman, said this at the first meeting of the first session of the sixth Assembly at Techiman.

Mr. Kyeremeh said the improvement of the IGF was due to the appointment of a new revenue coordinator to supervise and monitor revenue generation in the municipality.

He said the revenue performance from the last quarter of 2010 to April this year was remarkable but expressed regret property rates fell below expectation.

Mr Kyeremeh said the Assembly was committed to the development of the Municipality and was determined to clear the numerous refuse dumps. He said the Assembly had evacuated about 40,533 tones of refuse at Abanin, Hausa Line, Kenten West, Ahenfie, New Site and Kenten East, all in Techiman.

Mr Kyeremeh appealed to the Assembly Members to work hard in educating the electorate to honour their tax obligations.
