Techiman endorses Municipal Chief Executive

Techiman, July 5, GNA- The Techiman Municipal Assembly has confirmed the President’s nominee, Mr Prince Yaw Donyina, as the Chief Executive at an emergency meeting at Techiman.

Mr Donyina polled 50 votes out of the 60 votes cast by assembly members with 10 of them voting against him.

Mr Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, the Deputy Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, appealed to the people to help promote unity in the municipality.

He advised municipal chief executives and district chief executives to be cautious of people who would call on them in their offices only to gossip about other people.

Mr Baffour-Awuah appealed to the assembly members to avoid partisan politics in the discharge of their duties. Oseadeeyo Akumfi-Ameyaw, Omanhene of the Techiman Traditional Area, commended the assembly for the peaceful way by which the President’s nominee was endorsed and pledged the support of the traditional authorities for the assembly.

Mr Donyina thanked the members for the endorsement and promised to work hard to move the district ahead. 5 July 05
