Techiman chief Imam is dead

Techiman (B/A), July 16, GNA – The death has been announced in Techiman of Alhaji Imam Abdallah Bashar, Chief Imam of Techiman Municipality in Brong Ahafo.

The late Chief Imam, aged 90 years, has since been buried at the Muslim public cemetery in Techiman.

Alhaji Adamu Mohammed, Assembly Member for Hausaline electoral area, told Ghana News Agency that, the late Imam administered his clerical functions for 36 years.

The late Imam left behind 20 children and several grand and great grand children.

The Assembly Member said the death of the Chief Imam had greatly affected the Muslim community in the municipality, as he was a dedicated and conscientious leader.

Alhaji Mohammed added that, the late Muslim leader’s gentle and devoted disposition won many converts to the religion.
