Techiman builds new market

Techiman, May 10, GNA – Work on a 2.4 billion-cedi market at the Techiman/Tamale lorry station has begun at Techiman. The project, supervised by the Techiman Zonal Council and initiated by the Municipal Assembly under the Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) system, will comprise a three-storey block containing 80 stores. Mr Kofi Nimo, an accountant at the Council, told the GNA that 150 million cedis had so far been spent on the project and some traders had registered for the storerooms, depositing five million cedis each as commitment fee. He called on those who had paid the deposits to fast track payment of the full cost of 30 million cedis per storeroom for the project to be completed on schedule.
