Techiman assembly holds workshop for revenue collectors

Techiman (B/A), Aug 05, GNA – A three-day revenue mobilization workshop for 60 revenue collectors and supervisors of the Techiman District Assembly opened at Techiman on Monday. The workshop, organized and financed by Government Accountability Improves Trust (GAIT), is aimed at enhancing the capacity of the participants in revenue mobilization. Opening it, Mr Isaac Osei-Antwi, Techiman District Chief Executive, appealed to the collectors to attach importance to their work so as to generate revenue for the assembly. Mr Osei-Antwi expressed regret at the attitude of some revenue collectors of the assembly that sometimes drags the name of the assembly in the mud and asked them to change. Mr David D. Yaro, the District Coordinating Director for Techiman, said the assembly would institute a monitoring mechanism to measure the revenue collectors’ performance against targets set by the assembly. He warned that the assembly would sanction revenue collectors whose performances fall below target.
