Techiman Assembly budgets C21bn for dev’t projects

Techiman (B/A), Jan.19, GNA- The Techiman Municipal Assembly has approved a budget of 21.138 Billion Cedis for development projects this year.

Mr Stephen Agyeman-Badu, Municipal Budget Officer who announced this at the First Ordinary Meeting of the Third Session of the Assembly said 16.720 billion cedis would be spent on capital projects.

He said 2.5 billion cedis is committed to donor projects on water and sanitation, and 2.8 billion cedis on the Promotion of the District Capitals (PRODICAP) Projects, under the District Town III projects. Mr Agyeman-Badu said 2.9 billion cedis would be spent on Personal Emolument.

Mr Francis Tetteh Teye, Chief Local Government Inspector, said the Assembly had projected 2.178 billion cedis as internally generated revenue during the fiscal year.

Mr Isaac Osei-Antwi,Municipal Chief Executive, said 5.352 billion cedis have been earmarked for educational and sanitary projects in Offuman, Aworowa, Tuobodom and Tanoso communities.
