Teachers urged to cultivate love and tolerance for pupils

Breme (B/A), March 22, GNA – Ms. Veronica Essuman Nelson, Tano District Education Director has urged teachers to cultivate love and tolerate for their pupils to help reduce truancy among them. She stressed that truancy among pupils could be attributed to laziness, misuse of contact hours and irregular attendance of some teachers to school.

The District Director was addressing the staff of the Catholic Cluster of Schools at Breme in the Tano District during a working visit. She implored teachers to change any negative attitudes to work for effective teaching and learning since they held the future of the pupils.

Mr. Godfred Oppong, Bechem Circuit Supervisor stated that the preparation of scheme of work, lesson notes, teaching aids and adequate exercises formed the yardstick to measure any serious teacher. He cautioned the alcoholics among the teachers and warned them to stop or be sanctioned when caught.

Mr. Oppong advised teachers to be punctual and to come to school early, as lateness would not be tolerated.
