Teachers not paid for six months

Suhum, April 3, GNA – Teaching assistants employed under the National Youth Employment Programme at Anomansa in the Suhum Kraboa Coaltar District have not been paid for the past six months. Mr Emmanuel Nyametsor, Chairman of the Parent Teacher- Association (PTA), told the Ghana News Agency that the situation was compelling the teachers to walk a distance of five kilometers from Kukua to attend classes because they could not afford to pay lorry fares. He appealed to the authorities to ensure that they pay the teachers regularly.
