Teachers laud World Vision’s ADP Programme

Twifo Praso (C/R), May 20, GNA – The Twifo Praso Area Development Programme (ADP) of World Vision Ghana was on Thursday commended for sponsoring the training of 10 teachers in the Twifo-Heman-Lower Denkyira district.

Ms Regina Longdon, the district director of education, who made the commendation, said her outfit also trained 200 pupil teachers to be posted to communities, which did not have teachers. Ms Longdon was addressing the closing session of a three-day management training for 85 head teachers drawn from the district. The workshop was organised to update the managerial skills of participants.

Participants were treated topics such as accounting, management, capitation, HIV/AIDS and supervision. Ms Longdon told the participants that as head teachers, they should exercise effective control over teachers under them to enhance quality teaching and learning.

Ms. Longdon, also asked them to make judicious use of monies advanced them to run their schools, and assured them of her preparedness to help solve problems confronting them.
