Teachers in Sekondi-Takoradi urged to resume work

Takoradi, Oct 07, GNA – Mr. Joseph E. Amissah, the Western Regional Secretary of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), has appealed to striking teachers in the region to resume work immediately. He said with the conclusion of negotiations with the government, every teacher must go back to the classroom and perform his duties. Mr Amissah, who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview on Thursday, said circulars have been sent out and radio announcements have been made urging teachers to call off the strike.

Teachers in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis withdrew their services on September 29, accusing the government of delaying the payment of their negotiated salaries.
