Teachers commended for involvement in civic club

Juaso (Ash), June 20, GNA – The Asante-Akim South District Secretariat of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has commended the staff of the Juaso Presbyterian Junior Secondary School (JSS) and patron of the school’s Civic Education Club for their interest in the Club and its sustenance.

Mr Bernard Owusu-Ansah, District Director of the NCCE, who made the commendation, said it was a good gesture that would help the students to know their civic responsibilities and to become useful citizens.

He made the commendation during an interaction with members of the Club at Juaso on Friday.

Mr Owusu-Ansah expressed the hope that by studying the contents of the Constitution as part of the activities of the Club, the students would be imbued with the spirit of honesty, patriotism, respect and discipline.

He urged the students to keep to their books and refrain from negative behaviours and attitudes that could ruin their future. Mr Ebenezer Buabeng-Acquah, headteacher of the school, said the club had been of great help to the school in terms of discipline and environmental cleanliness.

He urged the students to educate their parents on what they learn from the Constitution so that they would also know their duties as citizens.
